Daniel D. Von Hoff,
M.D., F.A.C.P.
Dr.
Von Hoff is Professor of Medicine at The University of
Arizona Health
Sciences Center and Director of the Arizona Cancer Center. His
current focus is the development of new basic and clinical
anticancer agents. Dr. Von Hoff has conducted more
national clinical
trials than any other
investigator having
conducted more
than 110 with new antineoplastic and biologic agents in the past
17 years. He has been fundamental in the development of agents
such as gemcitabine, fludarabine phosphate, paclitaxel (Taxol),
docetaxel, and CPT-11.
Dr. Von Hoff is Past President of the American Association for
Cancer Research, and a past Member of the Board of Scientific
Advisors of the National Cancer Institute. He is a former member
of the board of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and
has served on the FDA’s Oncology Advisory Committee. Dr. Von
Hoff has composed more than 484 papers, 122 book chapters, and
822 abstracts. He has edited the Cancer Chemotherapy Handbook
and is on the editorial board of 12 scientific journals. He is
the recipient of the K. Bagshawe Honorary Lecture for the
British Association for Cancer Research, the EORTC Michel Clavel
Lectureship, the Therapeutic Frontiers Lecture Award from the
American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and the Rosenthal
Foundation Award for clinical research from the AACR among
numerous other awards and honors. He is a Fellow of the American
Association for the Advancement of Science and has been awarded
both the Outstanding Professor Award and the Presidential
Teaching Award from UTHSCSA.
James
Bearss, Ph.D. Chief Technology Officer
Dr. James Bearss is the former Chief Technology Officer at Texas
Instruments digital signal processors division and has served as
a project manager for Hewlett Packard. He has over 25 years of
experience in the high technology sector and has over 20 patents
to his credit. He has been involved in the identification and
acquisition of technologies for both Texas Instruments and
Hewlett Packard and brings extensive experience in hardware
solutions at the board and processor level. In addition, Dr.
Bearss has had extensive experience in electro-analytical
instrumentation and experimental design applied to digital
signal processing.
Michael
Jones Senior Technology Advisor
Mr. Jones is a Senior Software Engineer with over 10 years of
commercial software development experience. He has been the sole
or senior developer on over 7 commercial applications. He
currently serves on the board of directors for Thoughtform Inc.
a company that has developed advanced methods for the
interpretation of neurological activity. He has worked in
developing data analysis, graphing tools, and a high-level
scripting language as a Senior Software Engineer for Thoughtform.
He has developed several 3D games for Sierra On-Line and
Electronic Arts. He also has programmed 2 high-level calculators
with scientific, financial, statistics, graphing, dimensional
analysis, and programming capabilities.
